The Apple’s analysts confirmed too what has been written below and that the contract will expire at the end of this year; but it doesn’t look like reliable, since it has not been publicly announced nor by Apple and neither by AT&T.

Anyway it is known that at certain time the AT&T exclusivity will expire and then could be possible a Verizone IPhone, but not until it will be confirmed from Verizone and Apple too, till that moment it will remain only a rumor, so it will not be clear if and when the Verizon IPhone will be really feasible.

45 mpg – A Standard in 2020?

So far, CAFE standards are set to reach 35.5 mpg in 2016, with a 40 percent increase in today’s standard.

The group proposes to further raise fuel economy requirements to 45 mpg by 2020, claiming that technologies available today will allow automakers to make it happen.

In addition, the Consumer Federation wants changed the party that sets the CAFE standards.

The standards are currently a joint effort between the EPA and the NHTSA.

Because the Consumer Federation thinks that the NHTSA has been influenced by car companies, they want to give more power to EPA.A debate and planning for the future standards will probably arise once the proposed 2016 CAFE standards are finalized.

I-Miev for U.S. – Gasoline-Powered by Mitsubishi

The i-Miev mini-electric car will have to compete against the gasoline-powered Smart car as the Smart Electric Drive isn’t sold in the U.S. To this extent, Mitsubishi is considering adding a version of the car with a gasoline engine. In the U.S. a 1.0-liter normally-aspirated three-cylinder engine – with a similar size engine found in the Smart car – will power the new car.

The executive vice president of operations at Mitsubishi Motors North America, John Koenig, says that a high sales volume per month would make Mitsubishi re-engineer the car for U.S. customers’ demands. If the gasoline-version of the car is approved, it would arrive shortly after the electric car, that is in about 18 months.
