New rumors on future Mercedes S-class with a plug-in hybrid model

The new Mercedes Benz S-Class will be available in a hybrid version which will be loaded by ac outlet. Rumors say that the Mercedes-Benz team will launch S-class with a plug-in hybrid model, and besides that it will be the best on the technology across the rest of the range. In the first phase, the high price of this kind of technology will make the Mercedes team to implement only the most expensive models of it’s type. Besides the hybrid drive train, the future S-Class will be modified on what concerns it’s aerodynamic elements and also it’s total masse. Thomas Weber, Mercedes R&D boss said: “It makes a lot of sense to bundle the high-price tech option to the sort of customers willing to pay for this sort of thing”.
According to latest rumors, the weight reductions and aerodynamic improvements are anticipated for the next-generation S-class, so that the plug-in version is likely to turn in impressive economy figures: over 80mpg and less than 100g/km of CO2 . Nevertheless, Mercedes has excluded the possibility to bring a 100% electrical version of S-Class and Mercedes staff concluded : “It could be possible, but no. Our customers expect a certain range and a level of comfort, safety and space; such things lead to a certain weight and that won’t mean a good battery range.”
Consequently, the Mercedes staff said they will try as possible to reduce S-Class masse at the necessary minimum without affect the models essential components. Moreover, less expensive versions of the next S-class will also be offered with Mercedes’ next generation of six and eight-cylinder petrol engines. All will have direct injection, use stop-start and will be capable of being turbocharged or used in conjunction with electric motors. The company claims they will provide 10% more power, 25% more torque and 25% better economy than existing petrol motors.
