Google warns us about the fake antivirus on Internet

According to Google, 15% of all existing malicious codes on the Internet are fake antivirus.

This conclusion was reached following a period study between January 2009 and February 2010. During this period 240 million pages were studied from 11,000 areas.

The fake antivirus is promoted through pages created in javascript which reproduce well enough the window of a program in order to fool the user.

Once installed, the false virus is very difficult to eliminate.

This will prevent installation of system updates and legitimate virus.

Google’s advise to users is to be very careful about these fake antivirus.

When you encounter such a message, it is recommended to close and restart your browser.
