In these circumstances a project was initiated four years ago and it worth 15 million euros. Its name is Planets Digital Genome Time Capsule. It takes place in what is called Swiss Fort Knox, a data center located literally in a mountain. More specifically, everything is stored in a former military bunker with protection against a possible nuclear attack.
The capsule itself is a metal box containing a JPEG photo, a Java message, a MOV video, an HTML Web page and a brochure in PDF format.
The capsule follows to be checked over 10, 20, 30, 50 and 100 years to be observed the information level of degradation.
