Catherine Walker, Princess Diana’s favorite designer died from breast cancer

The designer died on Thursday in a hospital near Sussex after she lost a hard battle with cancer. Walker was one of Princess Diana’s favorite designers. “Catherine Walker overcame young widowhood and fought cancer twice with enduring bravery.

“She built one of the most successful British couture brands and at the same time raised a loving family. Catherine Walker has dressed many of the world’s most beautiful women.”

Catherine Walker was born in France but develop her fashion career mainly in Britain as a leading couture designer. Walker was married to John Walker and had two daughters.

The designer’s work was awarded by receiving the Designer of the Year for Couture at the British Fashion Awards in 1990 and Designer of the Year for Glamour the following year.
