The hip-hop star, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., will celebrate his release at an extravagant celebration to be held Sunday in Miami, reports MTV.
According to Mack Maine, chairman of the “Young Money” record company, Lil Wayne’s friends intend to treat him like a king.
“It should be a lot of beautiful women, just … beautiful scenery. We’re going to just treat him like a king, like the royalty that he is and make him feel like we really missed him and welcome him back to the family,” Maine told MTV.
According to People, Wayne was working on new material in prison. Some, including Maine, have also hinted that he might come back on stage ahead of schedule by making a special appearance at Drake’s concert, scheduled on Saturday in Las Vegas.
After pleading not guilty to charges of possession of a weapon after his arrest in July 2007, Lil Wayne changed his mind. He pleaded guilty in October 2009 in exchange for a reduced sentence of 12 moths in prison. He was however released after eight months for good behavior
