Nicole Richie’s probation is over

The probation period for the star ended on Wednesday, two months earlier than expected.

Nicole’s lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, provided evidence that Lionel Richie’s adopted daughter was able to regain her freedom. According to TMZ, glowing recommendations from the school where she took courses in alcohol awareness during the past 18 months accompanied the report.

Recently married to Good Charlotte singer Joe Madden, Nicole Richie was convicted in 2006 for DUI. She was arrested while traveling in the opposite direction on a highway. Richie later admitted she had smoked marijuana and taken Vicodin, a powerful painkiller, before taking the wheel.

Probation was originally scheduled to end in late February, but the judge agreed to terminate it early after finding that she had fulfilled all the conditions imposed.

Chris Brown at the heart of a new scandal

The incident began on Wednesday when Raz-B challenged Chris Brown in a message, reminding him of his attack against Rihanna: “I’m just sittin here thinking how can n—as like [Eric Benet] and [Chris Brown] disrespect women as intelligent as Halle Berry, Rihanna.”

Singer Eric Benet, who formed a couple with Halle Berry a few years ago, physically abused the 44-year-old actress.

Chris Brown then went after Raz-B, referring to allegations of sexual abuse that he has already filed against his former manager: “N—a you want attention! Grow up n—a!!! Di– in da booty ass lil boy.”

“I was minding my damn business and Peter pan decides to pop off!!!” Brown wrote. “I’m not mad though!!! I’m just not silent nor am i one of these scary R&B cats!!”

Raz then continued his criticism: “When I need tips on how to demolish my career I’ll call ya!!!! I love how u resort 2 disrespectful low brow tactics when u clearly sabotaged ur own career by beating women.”

“I love how u resort 2 disrespectful low brow tactics when u clearly sabotaged ur own career by beating women,” the former B2K member wrote.

The homophobic nature of the comments sparked grumbling from several users. Brown defended himself against homophobic accusations: “I’m not homophobic! He’s just disrespectful!!!”, assuring his gay fans that “this immature act is not targeted at you!!!!”

Chris Brown was convicted in 2009 for assaulting Rihanna and was consequently required to take the once-a-week class for one year, sentenced to 180 days of community labor, placed on five years of probation and issued a stay-away order from Rihanna.

After the quarrel, the two singers made their excuses for their homophobic comments and seem to have turned the page.

Extortion case against Oksana Grigorieva is weak

“It’s looking more and more like no crime was committed by Ms. Grigorieva,” the insider said.

Gibson and his attorney Blair Berk have met with officials to discuss a so-called extortion on the part of Oksana.

The actor is being investigated for domestic violence against Oksana Grigorieva, and this investigation is coming to an end.

“There is simply no smoking gun that point to Oksana trying to extort Mel,” the source said. “There are emails which Gibson’s camp say is clearly extortion.”

However, those emails can also be viewed in the context of an ongoing negotiation between Mel and Oksana regarding custody of their infant daughter.

Extortion is always hard to prove, especially if the person being accused was represented by a lawyer and in a bitter custody dispute.

The extortion case has yet to be officially handed over to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office by the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.

“I told them no, we had no interest in doing it and it was a pending case,” Winter told TMZ, adding, “I think it’s unprofessional and I wouldn’t do it out of respect for the family.”

“No Anorexia” French model dies at 28

A death whose causes are unknown and which has been kept secret by the will of her relatives.

The young woman had become a symbol of the fight against anorexia, an illness she had been suffering from since she was 13, by posing naked for a 2007 “No Anorexia” campaign. She weighed about 31 kg per 1 m 64.

The image of her emaciated body was meant to shock and allow her to draw attention to this disease in the media.

“I thought this could be a chance to use my suffering to get a message across, and finally put an image on what thinness represents and the danger it leads to — which is death,” she told AFP in 2007.

This image has been like a shock to the young woman herself. “Since the photo I took 3 kg. I’m healthier and I want to beat me, “she told us a few months after the campaign. She had testified in “The girl who would not grow,” a poignant book released in May 2008.

Isabelle Caro had fought vigorously against her illness and announced in March 2010 that she had reached the weight of 42 kg, a victory for the one who fell into a coma in 2006, while weighing only 25 kg.

Her boyfriend, Swiss singer Vincent Bigler, said the model spent about two weeks in hospital with acute respiratory disease before her passing. He said that he did not know the cause of death though. Dubreuil-Prevot, Caro’s longtime teacher, said she “had been sick for a long time.”

Amy Winehouse’s “trashy” songs

Amy Winehouse is a great artist, with the advantages and disadvantages that come with this, with a lot of talent and a trash attitude.

Speaking of trash, a red notebook of little Amy was found by chance in a dustbin, along with some school books. On this notebook, the 17-year-old girl confided her heartaches and some of her desires.

Goals that Winehouse had for the future when she was 17 include: “buy FLAT in London,” “get gym membership,” “buy a sunbed to put in my flat,” “get teeth fixed,” “live like the bombshell I really am.”

Simply entitled “Amy’s Songs” on its cover, the precious object already shows the artist’s writing talent and her early passion for drugs and alcohol.

Lines such as “Drain my drink & order more / Can’t you play all night / I knew I was beckoned by the stage” show that Amy had a passion for music since teenage, but also early struggles with drinking habits.

Winehouse’s rep told People that the singer wants the notes back. “Yes, they are hers,” her rep confirmed. “They got thrown out by mistake and she’s in the process of getting them back now.”

Rupert Everett tackles Jennifer Aniston

Long confined to roles of gays because of his displayed sexual preference, the actor denounces the “extremely conservative” Hollywood showbiz, and gives Jennifer Aniston as an example of an actress who is still highly acclaimed, despite a heap of flops at the box office throughout her career.

“Okay, something will go wrong. Like Jennifer Aniston will just have one too many total flops. But she’s still a member of that club. And she will still manage to — like a star forming in the universe — a whole lot of things swirling around and suddenly solidifying into yet another vital tasteless romcom: a little glitter next to the Crab Nebula,” he told BBC Radio 4’s Today Show.

That’s a rather elegant way, typical of the dandy character he has been portraying throughout his career, to say that the American film industry chooses its actors more depending on their popularity in the media and public opinion rather than for their talent or career choice.
