Ferrari will present a very “different model” at Geneva in 2011

Luca di Montezemolo, the head of Ferrari, told the magazine L’Equipe that they are preparing a model that is completely different from what we’ve seen until now.

Montezemolo also announced that Ferrari has sold 6,500 copies in 2010 and he made comments regarding the performance of the Maranello manufacturer’s Formula 1 team. All rumors indicate the debut of a hybrid model in the Ferrari range, in order to have a competitor for the Porsche 918 Spyder and reduce CO2 emissions of the brand.

At the 2010 edition of the Geneva Motor Show, the Ferrari team presented a green 599, both literally and figuratively. The model was a concept based on a standard 599 which had a hybrid propulsion system added to it and was painted in a light shade of green.

On the other hand, Ferrari could follow in the footsteps of Porsche in other viewpoints. More specifically, the Italian manufacturer could walk on his pride and produce a four-door model. For the moment, a SUV Ferrari is excluded as the Maranello brand is trying to stay as close to the original as possible.
