Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz welcome their first child

Their first child was born at Cedars Sinai hospital in Los Angeles where the couple sought to have the greatest intimacy possible, the newspaper wrote. Sources say they are parents of a baby boy.

Penelope Cruz, 36, and Javier Bardem, 41, met while shooting the film “Jamon, Jamon” in 1992, before working together again in 2008 in the Woody Allen film “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” which earned the actress the following year’s Oscar.

Cruz debuted her baby bump on the set of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides in Puerto Rico last September, two months after marrying Bardem. “It is true. I am very happy,” the actor said at the time.

Javier Bardem, nominated for an Oscar in 2001 for Best Actor for the film “Before Night Falls”, had won a statuette in 2007 for his role in the film “No Country for Old Men” by the Coen brothers.

In 2010, he received the Best Actor award at Cannes for the film “Biutiful” by Mexican director Alejandro González Iñárritu. He has also received an Oscar nomination for this role.
