Over the past two weeks, short segments were broadcast on her website, just to stir her admirers’ interest.
In the video, which lasts for more than four minutes, Britney Spears doesn’t just mimic the lyrics of her song, but also performs a sensual choreography with her dancers. The singer also gets into fights with herself.
Her admirers, however, will see that Britney Spears doesn’t hesitate to promote several brands throughout the video: an effort of product placement that has probably helped defray some of the staggering costs to make this blockbuster video with a futuristic decor.
The clip was directed by Jonas Åkerlund, a popular Swedish film director in Hollywood. He has also worked with Lady Gaga, Madonna and U2.
From the beginning of the video, Britney spritzes her new fragrance, called “Radiance”, a few seconds before the camera does a close up of the shadow of the brand Make Up For Ever.
Sony TV sets are also shown prominently, playing old videos of the singer.
Moreover, the dating site PlentyOfFish.com dominates her computer screen as she tries to find a lover.
The seventh studio album by Britney Spears, “Femme Fatale”, is scheduled for release on March 29.
