The 55-year-old actor went to the El Segundo Police Department in Southern California where he had his mug shot taken and fingerprints recorded.
Radar Online reports that Gibson was booked Wednesday night after he was charged with misdemeanor battery for allegedly assaulting former girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.
He was sentenced to 36 months probation, a year of mandatory counseling and 16 hours community service.
Gibson arrived at the station about 9:30 p.m. and was released a half-hour later. His booking record lists him as 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing 190 pounds.
Radar also revealed his bail was set at $20,000, ten percent of which the actor posted before he was released.
Sergeant Dean Howard dealt with Gibson and said the actor was “very pleasant”.
He said: “He was here for a very short time. He was very pleasant. This is just an old case that the judge wanted him to get fingerprinted for. It isn’t anything new. We did it real quick and he was out.”
Gibson, who stars in Jodie Foster’s latest flick “The Beaver”, skipped the film’s premiere to take care of the court-ordered booking.
