One month before the royal wedding in England, the Duchess of Cornwall Camilla Parker-Bowles had still not spoken publicly about her future daughter-in-law Kate Middleton. It was during a visit to the Covent Garden Academy of Flowers on Wednesday that the Duchess broke her silence about the future princess of Wales.
“Kate’s a lovely girl,” Camilla told students of the institution, reports the Daily Express. “We’re very lucky. I’m very much looking forward to the wedding.”
As she struggled to find her place in the royal family and especially in the heart of the English after the death of Princess Diana, it seems that Kate’s arrival at Buckingham Palace helps her with winning the hearts of the public.
The two women are reportedly getting along very well. After they were seen last month in the Knightsbridge neighborhood enjoying lunch together and discussing wedding plans, Kate went out for a night at the ballet with her future in-laws while William was away in Australia and New Zealand.
During her visit, Camilla also spoke of the enthusiasm of her granddaughters Eliza Lopes, who will be maid of honor on April 29 at Westminster Abbey: “She’s only three and it will be quite nerve-wracking for a little one. But she will enjoy it.”
