Rosie O’Donnell accuses Chris Brown’s critics of racism

The outspoken talk show host said she believes Brown’s haters are acting so harsh on him because they’re racist.

“I don’t know why this kid seems to be held to a different standard than anybody else,” O’Donnell said on her daily radio show.

Asked if the reaction was racially based, O’Donnell answered, “I totally think [it] is. I also think it’s why he felt he was safer with Robin Roberts.”

“I felt mildly angry at Robin Roberts,” she continued. “I felt like writing her and going: ‘Can you take a look at this again and see if maybe you find — in any way — your responsibility in this?’ ”

Chris become angry after being questioned about his assault on former girlfriend Rihanna during the interview with host Robin Roberts and he reportedly had a violent outburst.

In defending Chris Brown, Rosie was also a bit ironic as she said she had a similar experience during a past appearance on The View.

“Part of me wanted to take a chair and throw it through the window at The View,” she said of her one-year stint with the ABC show. “But, you know, there are no windows down there in that rat-infested cellar.”
