While enjoying his 85th birthday party at Las Vegas’ Palms Casino Resort, Hefner told the mag: “I think Holly [Madison] has expressed publicly that it would be a little strange if she was there and I respect that.”
Madison and Hefner exes Kendra Wilkinson and Bridget Marquardt starred in the reality series The Girls Next Door, documenting the trio’s interesting relationship with Hef.
People reports that both Wilkinson and Marquardt are on the guest list, despite Wilkinson’s recent claims that she has yet to receive a “Save The Date” invitation for the wedding.
“It’s Crystal that does the wedding planning. She’s the girl. If she doesn’t give me a ‘save the date’ soon, I’m going to have to put in my save the date with the other wedding,” she said.
“She knows she’s invited,” Hefner said of Wilkinson’s recent comments. “The invitations haven’t gone out yet.”
During the time on Girls Next Door, Holly was the one who most wanted to settle down, marry Hef and start a family. As Hefner didn’t want these things back then, they split in 2008. Madison left the mansion and relocated to Las Vegas, leaving Hugh to move on to his wife-to-be, 24-year-old Harris.
When Hugh announced his engagement to Harris Madison told E! News that she was “very surprised.”
And so was Hefenr, as he revealed to People: The 85-year-old twice-married Hefner seems surprised as well, telling People: “I never expected to get married again. But the reality is I can’t see myself with anybody else, and I just want to give the relationship that kind of formal statement. I think Crystal deserves it. I love happy endings.”
