Superbus: the Dutch Super Bus with 800 horsepower

Students at a transport university in the Netherlands have set up to a daring project, which aims to develop an electrical 800 horsepower bus. The figure looks as impressive as the exterior aspect.

Wubbo Ockels, a former Dutch astronaut, and Antonia Terzi, engineer and aerodynamic specialist in a BMW-Williams Formula One team, have contributed to the project.

The bus is powered by several electric motors whose output totals 800 horsepower.

Thanks to resources stored in lithium-polymer batteries, the 15-meter-long super-bus, built on a carbon fiber platform, can carry safely a total of 23 persons. Even so, the maximum speed stops at 250 km / h. For those who worry about autonomy, the Superbus ensures running for over 210 km on the energy stored in a single battery.

The Dutch bus comes with 16 vertical opening doors, eight on each side, and chairs placed face-to-face with storage space.
