Lady Gaga told Harper’s Bazaar magazine that designer Alexander McQueen, who committed suicide by hanging on February 11, 2010, “planned the whole thing” since she wrote Born This Way immediately after he died.
“I think he’s up in heaven with fashion strings in his hands, marionetting away, planning this whole thing,” said Gaga.
When the American artist’s record label decided to release the single Born This Way on the same day as the first anniversary of McQueen’s death, Lady Gaga said that her suspicions that the British designer’s spirit continues to work through her body was confirmed.
“When I heard that, I knew he planned the whole damn thing. I didn’t even write the fucking song. He did!” she said in May issue of Harper’s Bazaar.
Alexander McQueen and Lady Gaga were close friends. The American singer wore shoes in the shape of lobster created by the famous designer especially for her video for Bad Romance and paid tribute to him especially during her performance at the 2010 Brit Awards gala in London, a week after the designer’s death.
Lady Gaga has been adorning her face with “facial prosthetics”, two protrusions located in her cheekbone which seem to rise from under the skin. Her strange bumps that appear on her shoulders as well, were part of her new look when the singer first played the song Born This Way at the Grammys in February, which led to some speculation that Lady Gaga has undergone plastic surgery or she’s wearing prosthetic bones.
“I have never had plastic surgery, and there are many pop singers who have,” she went on. “I think that promoting insecurity in the form of plastic surgery is infinitely more harmful than an artistic expression related to body modification.”
The singer insisted that the bones have always been there, adding: “They’ve always been inside of me, but I have been waiting for the right time to reveal to the universe who I truly am.”
