The device went off Tuesday due to a possible malfunction. Her attorney revealed that a representative from the monitoring company went to Lohan’s house to see what the problem was.
“Lindsay’s electronic monitoring system went off on Monday. When a representative from the monitoring company went to her home, the representative found Lindsay there. The equipment was replaced the following day,” her lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley said in a statement Thursday.
A spokesman for Lohan explained that the visit made by probation officials was a “part of standard procedure to make sure the monitoring equipment was working properly,” reports Los Angeles Times .
The 24-year-old actress is currently serving 35 days of house arrest for violating her probation by stealing a $2,500 necklace from a Venice jewelry store in January
She is allowed to leave home only for medical appointments or to for probation appointments. She is allowed visitors, but if she leaves the “interior premises” of her home, the ankle bracelet is triggered. Probation officials can also enter her home at any time.
In addition, she has to complete 480 hours of community service at an L.A. County morgue.
