Philippe Narmino, president of the State Council, presided over the ceremony attended by almost 80 people, including officials and relatives of the couple.

Charlene is now “Princess of Monaco” and was given the name Charlene Grimaldi. After the civil marriage ceremony, she will welcome the people from the balcony of the palace.

Giant screens have been located in the Prince’s Palace Square so that the ceremony will be viewed by everyone. Access to the Palace Square was given an hour before the beginning of the civil ceremony.

The religious ceremony will take place on Saturday, in the courtyard of the princely palace. The event will be broadcast by more than 50 televisions and will be attended by 4300 guests.
