Arnold Schwarzenegger’s fortune is estimated at 300 million dollars and that of Maria Shriver at 100 million dollars.
The split of the community property will probably be made as a result of negotiations between the parties. However, the results of these negotiations, unlike decisions made in court, are confidential.
Maria Shriver filed the divorce papers on Friday in the Los Angeles Superior Court, citing “irreconcilable differences,” reports TMZ.
Shriver asked to be supported by her ex-husband after the divorce, without any specification, and required joint custody of the couple’s two minor children, Patrick, 17, and Christopher, 13. Shriver and Schwarzenegger also have two daughters, Katherine, 21, and Christina, 19.
A spokesman for the Terminator star refused to comment, while representatives of Maria Shriver could not be contacted.
The two announced that they separated in May, four months after Schwarzenegger’s second term as a governor of California expired. A week after this announcement, Arnold shocked the public by admitting that he had an illegitimate child.
