The highest museum in the world is built at 3842 meters altitude on Mont Blanc

The building will be located at 3842 meters altitude on Mt Aiguille du Midi, on the mountain of Mont Blanc.

A cable car linking Chamonix to the peak’s summit, Aiguille du Midi, opened in 1955 when it became the world’s highest.

The museum that will be built will be dedicated to Mont Blanc and it will present the history of mountaineering in the region.

The construction of a platform, called Aravis Terrasse, with a glass floor suspended over vertical slopes of a hundred meters is also in the plan.

However, the project’s ambition of creating the “highest museum in the world” has come under criticism since the city of Potosí in Bolivia, which is located at an altitude of 4090 meters, also hosts many museums.
