Beyoncé and mom Tina Knowles launch debut clothing line at the London Fashion Week

The singer created House of Deréon with her mother Tina Knowles in 2005. The collection has two international campaigns and was presented by Beyoncé and her mother at the Fashion Week in London.

“It’s been such a great journey,” the mom-to-be told reporters. ”We’ve been working so hard on this. It is a dream come true.”

The collection has a “Global Nomad” theme, representing an exotic clash of cultures. tribal Aztec-print dresses, feather headpieces, flamenco frilled dresses were combined with warrior-style gold face paint and embellished turbans.

“Beyoncé gets to travel all around the world and bring back beautiful fashions and trends,” her mother Tina said. “And she tells us what’s going on, what’s new, and what’s just around the corner. We depend on her a lot — we raid her closet!”

Beyoncé explained that she was eager to introduce her line in the U.K. because “the women here are so stylish and beautiful. They’re a little more experimental [with fashion].”
