Samsung plans to prevent the release of iPhone 5 in Korea

According to the Korea Times that relies on internal sources at Samsung, legal proceedings are being prepared to try to block sales of the iPhone 5 upon its release in South Korea.

Samsung is known to be responsible for producing the components of Apple’s iPhone. But since Samsung launched its own Galaxy series of phones and tablets, the two companies are at war.

“When the iPhone 5 arrives here, Samsung plans to take Apple to court here for its violation of Samsung’s wireless technology related patents,” a Samsung executive told the Korea Times this week.

Samsung’s suing comes as a response to Apple’s continued legal action against the former’s series of Galaxy touchscreen tablets and smartphones, with some claiming they are “slavish” copies of iPhone and iPad.

Korea Times measures the extent of the conflict in the world: at least 23 lawsuits are pending between Apple and Samsung in countries like France, Japan, South Korea and the United States.

Previous reports said that the iPhone 5 is rumored to be launched on October 15.
