Apple saying goodbye to iPod classic and shuffle?

While the iPod Classic is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, it could be that this is its last: Apple plans to stop production of the iPod Classic and the Shuffle, according to the site TUAW.

To support this theory, the site explains that Apple still hasn’t renewed its line of iPods this year. This usually occurs in early September.

In addition, the iPod classic hasn’t received a facelift last year, both externally and internally, and its interface is becoming really outdated.

Also, iPod sales have been in decline for nearly two years which may prompt Apple to give up on the device.

The next Keynote from Apple will take place on October 4 and it is likely to be the big day for the iPhone 5.
