Doctors advised the 23-year-old artist to remain at rest for several months.
Columbia Records announced Friday morning that the singer-songwriter will soon undergo surgery, adding that “a full recovery is expected.”
“She is to undergo surgery to alleviate the current issues with her throat and a full recovery is expected,” the statement read.
“As a result, doctors have ordered her to rest her voice and completely recuperate before looking to schedule any work commitments.”
This year in June, laryngitis kept her from performing for several weeks. Earlier this month, she had been forced to cancel 10 U.S. concerts because of a hemorrhage of the vocal cords.
