Dr. Conard Murray could be released after serving a few months in prison

Law experts say that Dr. Conard Murray could benefit from a new California law, regarding overcrowded prisons.

Judge Michael Pastor could sentence the doctor, on November 29, to probation, home confinement or up to four years in state prison.

But last month California adopted a law that sends low-risk prison inmates to regional prisons and prison officials managing the Los Angeles County have already begun to release these prisoners earlier, due to lack of space.

“It will be very difficult to achieve an appropriate sentence of incarceration for Dr. Conrad Murray,” Steve Cooley, Los Angeles District Attorney, told reporters.

Murray was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in death of Michael Jackson, for administering propofol, a powerful sedative that Jackson was using as a sleeping pill.
