Angelina Jolie is happy to be alive, says she’s still a rebel

Angelina Jolie hasn’t always been the glamorous and committed actress she is today.

In her youth, the star had her share of adrenaline, abusing all kinds of illicit substances, speaking about her bisexual trysts or wearing a vial of blood around her neck.

“I went through heavy, darker times and I survived them,” the Oscar winner, 36, told 60 Minutes.

“I didn’t die young, so I’m very lucky. There are other artists and people who didn’t survive certain things.”

As CBS correspondent Bob Simon, who visited her in Budapest , asked for further explanation, the actress answered evasively.

“I think people can imagine that I did the most dangerous and I did the worst, and for many reasons I shouldn’t be here,” she said. “You think of those too many times where you came close to too many dangerous things, too many chances taken too far.”

However, Jolie admits she has still kept her rebellious side.

“I’m still a bad girl. I still have that side of me,” she said. “It’s just in its place now. … It belongs to Brad.”
