Unfortunately, the latest release doesn’t address the battery drain issue that some iOS 5 users have been experiencing.
However, based on a document published on Apple’s Support webpage, the updated build may have been designed to address SIM card-related issues.
As we previously reported, some iPhone users have complained about problems that appeared when activating their SIM card, with “No Service” and “No SIM Card Installed” messages popping on the screen.
The new Apple support document reveals that the update was released for iOS 5 users who haven’t upgraded to the newest version.
Users are advised to download and install the latest iOS 5 build by restoring iPhone 4S through iTunes and then verifying that the installed version is 5.0.1 (9A406).
