The iPhone 5 “is probably going to come out in the first quarter of 2012,” Madrigal writes.
In addition, the analyst predicts that the handset will be a trendsetter in the world of tech in 2012.
“I think the release of the iPhone 5 will be the pivot around which the rest of 2012 turns in tech,” he speculates, adding that the smartphone could set “a whole new standard for communications devices.”
Madrigal also predicts that the iPhone 5 “will be a huge deal,” and believes that everyone will “casually mention it in dinner conversations” and “strangers will talk about it on the bus.”
However, Madrigal’s assumptions are deemed false by others, such as the editors at Stupid Apple Rumors who simply comment on his post: “Not going to happen and The Atlantic should stick to what it knows and stay out of the rumor business.”
What do you think? Could the iPhone 5 be released in the first quarter of 2012?
