OSCARS 2012 – The full list of nominations

Nominations for the 84th Academy Awards were announced Tuesday at a press conference by actress Jennifer Lawrence and president of the Academy of Motion Picture, Tom Sherak.

The event took place at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, and was broadcast live on the site of the Academy.

The 3D film “Hugo” by Martin Scorsese scored most of the nominations – 11, followed by “The Artist”, with 10 nominations. The film “Moneyball” with Brad Pitt in the lead role, won six nominations, while “The Descendants,” with George Clooney, has five nominations. The movies “The Help” and “Midnight in Paris” each have four nominations, and “The Tree of Life” was nominated in three categories.

The Academy Awards will take place on February 26, broadcast live from Hollywood and will be hosted by Billy Crystal.
