Samsung Galaxy S III and iPhone 5 rumors: could both devices feature Liquipel?

Citing a “well-placed” source within one of the top British independent phone retailers, writes that Apple and Samsung could use the advantages of the Liquipel technology to make future smartphones completely waterproof.

Samsung Galaxy S III and iPhone 5 could receive this treatment which would cover both the outer shells of the devices, as well as their internal components.

The company that created the technology posted a video on YouTube that shows an iPhone 4 playing a video while submerged in water.

In addition, HZO is another company responsible for creating a technology that is able to make any electronic component waterproof, by applying a protective film at the nanometer scale during the assembly.

To demonstrate the reliability of his technique, a working iPhone and Samsung Galaxy were dunked into a bowl of water and still remained functional.
