iPhone 5 release date: Foxconn hires 20,000 workers for iPhone 5 production

Citing a Foxconn local employee surnamed Yu, the Morning Life Post reported on March 21 that Foxconn Technology Group received orders for about 57 million units of iPhone 5 a year.

The report states that he plant will be responsible for 85 per cent of the manufacturing of the next iPhone.

The plant in Taiyuan will be the main provider of components for the iPhone 5.
