Intel’s Ivy Bridge processors to be announced on April 23

According to Apple Insider, the launch comes ahead of the release of Ivy Bridge-powered ultrabooks from Asustek, Acer, Lenovo and Hewlett-Packard next month.

The site writes that Apple’s 15-inch MacBook Pros are expected to be the first Macs to be powered by the new Intel chips.

Recently, Third-party resellers no longer have such devices in stock, nor are they willing to deliver new orders for these models, which many see as first sign of a range renewal.

In addition, Cupertino is said to be planning the release of its refreshed iMac models in June. The devices are expected to feature the new Ivy Bridge processors for desktop and mobile systems.

Ivy Bridge is Intel’s first chip that uses new 3D transistors and supports USB 3.0.
