MacBook Pro to come with Retina Display and ultra-thin design

According to 9to5Mac, the design of the new Macs won’t be a copy of the MacBook Air, as it was initially rumored, but will borrow elements from it.

The updated MacBook Pro will look more like a thinner version of the current MacBook Pro.

Cupertino plans to release a 15-inch MacBook Pro with a high-resolution “Retina” display, currently found on the iPhone 4/4S and new iPad.

The site also writes that that Apple has been testing USB 3.0 technology lately and the port could be brought to the new Macs thanks to Intel’s Ivy Bridge processors.

The new USB 3.0 ports won’t replace Thunderbolt, but coexist with it.

The new models will be thinner as they will no longer have a CD / DVD drive and will come with the same unibody aluminum case that equips the current MacBook Pros and the MacBook Air.
