iPhone 5 rumors: next iPhone could have 4-inch screen

According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, Apple is reportedly looking to expand the screen of his next smartphone.

The publication writes that Apple has place ordered for the larger displays among its suppliers.

These displays, which will measure at least 4 inches, are expected to enter production next month.

The paper cited several manufacturers, including LG Display, Sharp, and a new company, Japan Display Inc., that was created by three Japanese companies and the government, Sony, Hitachi and Toshiba, among the leading providers of screens for the new iPhone.

Using a larger screen could be a sign that Apple is trying to catch up on its rivals, especially Samsung Android devices.

Since its first launch in 2007, the iPhone has offered a 3.5 inch screen, which seems considerably smaller as compared to Apple’s competitors.
