According to The Next Web, Apple filed a dispute with the World Intellectual Property Organization earlier this year its request was granted today.
The domain name iPhone5.com belonged to a forum that was full of ads and where subjects regarding the iPhone 5 were discussed.
WIPO records now show that the complaint has been “terminated” and the case is now closed.
At present, the domain is being held by Corporation Service Company, a firm that Apple could be using to take control.
Apple’s attempt to gain control of the iPhone5.com domain sparked speculation that the company could name its next iPhone the “iPhone 5.”
The sixth-generation iPhone is rumored to be released in the fall.
