iPhone 5 rumors: Apple patent describes noise-reducing windscreen case for iPhone

In order to find a solution to the problem, Cupertino has come up with an idea of a windscreen that could enhance audio quality.

According to AppleInsider, the application, published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, describes a case that could be made out of plastic, acrylic, polycarbonate, silicon or rubber.

As for the windscreen, it could be made out of a mesh, foam, or feather-like structure.

But what may seem unattractive to users is that they must use a removable case to cancel that noise.

“The removable case includes an opening that aligns with a microphone port that is built into the device,” the document reads.

“A windscreen is sealed across the opening of the case. The windscreen is designed to reduce wind noise, air blasts, vocal plosives, and other noise.”

The site notes that the case could also be called a skin, bumper or cover.
