iPhone 5 release date in September, iPad mini in November and iPad 4 in the works

According to an iLounge report, the September 21 launch for the iPhone 5 is confirmed by the site’s sources.

The device is set to come with at least two types of cases.

The first looks a lot like the Bumper released in 2010 for the iPhone 4, while the second will be different and will reportedly have a great impact on the accessory market if it gets released.

A new iPod Touch model is also set for release in the fall. The device will be equipped with a 4-inch and the A5 processor that powers the iPad 2 and 3 and the iPhone 4.

However, Apple isn’t likely to launch a new iPod Nano, the site notes.

In addition, the iPad mini will apparently be presented at a separate event from that of the iPhone 5 and the iPod Touch, with rumors pointing to mid-November.

Apple is also rumored to be producing new versions of the iPad Smart Cover and iPad Smart Case for the iPad mini.

Finally, the site writes that the iPad 4 is currently under development at Apple and the tablet might keep the design of the iPad 3.

Few changes will be made to the tablet in order to increase efficiency. These include a smaller dock connector, a rear-side microphone, and heat-reducing changes to the hardware.

The rear-side microphone will help in noise cancellation or improve audio quality during rear video recording, and is similar to the one found on the iPhone 5. It will be placed between the camera and flash.
