iPhone 5 rumors: next iPhone compared to iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS

iColorOS (via French website Nowhereelse.fr) presents shots of side-by-side comparisons with the iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS.

The pictures present a fully assembled iPhone 5 with a taller screen.

The future iPhone is showcased next to an iPhone 3GS and an iPhone 4.

Also, the volume and mute buttons are placed on the left side and a SIM card slot on the right.

The iPhone 5 appears to be thinner than the iPhone 3GS and even thinner than the iPhone 4.

The photos also present an assembled front panel of the iPhone 5 placed onto this partially assembled rear shell.

Parts repair firm iResQ published images of the assembled internal structure of the future handset this week.

iPhone 5 rumors: what a 4-inch screen would look like

The next iPhone screen is rumored to be updated from the current 3.5-inches featured in the iPhone 4S to 4-inches.

This bigger screen will give the device a resolution of 1136×640 and more space for apps.

A video posted by MacRumors shows what this larger 4-inch display would look like in action.

The site speculates that the additional space would be good for larger app folder sizes and that games and apps should be modified in order to take advantage of this new change.

Current apps would be “letterboxed”, with an empty black space at the top and bottom of the larger display.

The 1136×640 resolution would almost match the 16:9 ratio that most widescreen monitors and televisions feature and it would be good for widescreen movies.

iPad Mini spotted in iOS developer code logs

According to MacRumors, the device codes, numbered “iPad2, 5” and “iPad2, 6”, could correspond to a mini iPad.

Arment writes that the iPad2,1 through iPad 2,3 designations stand for the iPad 2′s WiFi, GSM and CDMA models.

The developer concedes that these device codes are likely to be the both iPad Minis, suggesting that the tablet would be based on iPad 2 hardware.

“This is all speculation, of course,” Arment writes, “but I’m convinced: like the leaked Dock connector, this move is so ingenius that it’s most likely to be what Apple has really done.”

Apple is rumored to be planning an October launch for a smaller 7.85-inch iPad.

Adele slams rumors of a secret marriage to boyfriend Simon Konecki

Adele sparked speculation that she got married after she was spotted wearing what appeared to be a wedding band.

In addition, UK’s Daily Mail cited a source who claimed to have attended the singer’s secret wedding.

However, the 24-year-old Grammy winner and mom-to-be took to Twitter to deny reports that she said ‘I do.’

“I’m not married . . . Zzzzzzz,” she wrote Thursday afternoon.

Adele announced her pregnancy on her website in June.

iPhone 5 release date: delays in production of new iPhone displays

The Wall Street Journal
reports that the company’s production of the displays is behind schedule due to low production yields.

The publication also writes that LG and Japan Display have already begun shipping the new screens to Apple.

The source didn’t mention how far behind the schedule the production at Sharp is or whether this will affect the launch of the device.

WSJ’s insider also stated that “manufacturing problems” were also to blame for the delay.

On August 2, Sharp President Takashi Okuda announced that the company would begin production and shipment of new screens at its Kameyama LCD plant in central Japan this month.

Kameyama “is operational,” according to Sharp spokeswoman Miyuki Nakayama, as cited by Reuters.

Apple is rumored to be planning a Sept. 12 event, which many believe will be the launch of the iPhone 5.

iPhone 5 rumors: new leak shows A6 chip for Apple’s next iPhone

Sonny Dickson has tweeted an image of what is claimed to be the iPhone 5 logic board powered by an A6 processor.

The logical board appears without a protective EMI shielding for an internal look at the A6 chip.

However, as 9to5mac and MacRumors note, it is hard to establish for certain if the photo is indeed authentic due to the small size and low quality.

Sonny Dickson wrote that it needed to be “enhanced with Photoshop.”

Another picture posted by Dickson showed the rumored 9-pin dock cable.

If the rumors are true, the next iPhone would be the first iOS device to be powered by an A6 CPU.

An A5 chip currently equips the iPhone 4S and an A5X chip is used in the third-generation iPad.

Adele and Simon Konecki “marry in secret,” source confirms

According to the UK’s Daily Mail, who cites a guest at the wedding, Adele wore a traditional gown at the event.

“They did get married, and I was present. It was a fabulous occasion,” the source told the publication.

“Adele was dressed in a classic attire and Simon looked very smart and joyous.”

Speculation that the 24-year-old singer had tied the knot was sparked as she was pictured wearing a wedding band in London last month.

“She’s an old-fashioned girl and can’t wait to be part of a family unit. She just wants to focus on the baby and the man she loves,” an insider told Life & Style magazine,, who published photos of her and her fiancé.

This is the first marriage for Adele, and the second for Simon Konecki, 38, who was previously married to fashion stylist Clary Fisher in 2004, with whom he shares a child.

iPhone 5, iPad Mini rumors: false rumored release date?

So far various rumors have suggested that the next-generation iPhone and the rumored mini tablet could be launched on the same day of September 12 at an Apple conference.

But CNET notes that Moscone Center, which is the location used by Apple for many major launch events, is booked that same day for a microbiology conference.

This could easily spark speculation that the rumored September 12 release date could be a hoax.

However, the same site writes that Cupertino could hold the event at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (YBCA) in San Francisco, which is the same location used for the launch of the New iPad, or at its massive campus.

Nonetheless, other reports have suggested that the iPad Mini launch seems set for the month of October, but depending on the iPhone 5 launch it could be scheduled earlier.
