The pictures are posted on the site Neowin and are allegedly coming from a source “who is an ex staff member from a long time ago.”
However, the source has confirmed that the device is not a functional one, but a “non functional replica prototype” that is nonetheless, “pretty accurate too.”
The unibody case seems to be made from aluminum and the exterior consists of a single piece.
A longer 4-inch display is also featured, as well as a new dock connector and a replaced headphone jack.
The internet has been rife with leaks of what are claimed to be prototypes of the future iPhone.
A series of leaked photos posted by Chinese site cnbeta.com today present an iPhone 5 with a case that looks identical to that of the iPad 2 and 3 and a 30-pin dock connector, contradicting recent rumors.
Last week, Chinese site iLab.cc presented an assembled version of the iPhone 5, based on recent leaks.
