iPhone 5 blueprints reveal smartphone’s schematics

Detailed blueprints of the iPhone 5 were posted on the company’s developer website in order to allow third-party manufacturers to design peripheral products ahead of the device’s September 21 launch.

Although Apple posted the blueprints in the developer center, they became public when @joeljohnson posted a link to the images on his Twitter account and on a MacRumors forum thread.

The schematics detail the components of the iPhone 5 and provide material for developers who plan to work on cases or external attachments for the device.

The blueprints advise case makers against obstructing the metallic portions of the smartphone with metal.

Pre-orders for the iPhone 5 topped 2 million units in the first 24 hours of availability.
