Much to everyone’s surprise, Cupertino unveiled a refreshed version of its latest iPad, just six months after the “new iPad” came out.
The new generation will feature the new Lightning dock connector and a new A6X processor chip that the company claims it’s twice as fast as the A5X, with double the graphics performance.
“It is a power house,” Apple senior vice president Phil Schiller said.
The handset comes with a 5 megapixel iSight camera, expanded LTE chipset, front-facing camera with FaceTime and 720p video capture and faster Wi-Fi.
The tablet is priced at $499 for a 16 GB model, with $100 added to that price for every 16GB in additional storage.
The fourth-generation iPad will come in both black and white.
