iPhone 5 stocks sold out in India

According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple has sold its initial stocks of the iPhone 5 in India.

The report also states that only 10,000-15,000 units were shipped to India for the first round of sales.

Himanshu Chakravarti, the CEO of retailer The Mobile Store, told the publication that his company had sold out the device in the first 24 hours.

Analysts expect sales of 100,000 iPhone 5 units in India in the first month of availability, totaling 200,000 by the end of the year.

India’s mobile operators Airtel and Aircel offer the 16GB version of the handset for Rs 45,500 and the 64GB model at a price of Rs 59,500.
