According to The Wall Street Journal, China Telecom chairman Wang Xiaochu announced that the carrier will start selling the device in late November or early December.

The date is fixed yet as the handset has to get the regulatory approval in China.

The report adds that China has brought $5.7 billion in revenue for Apple in the last quarter, 16% of the company’s total.

The communist country is an important source of sales for Apple.

China Telecom’s competitor, China Unicom, announced in September that it would be selling the iPhone 5 as well around the end of the year.
