Without the new iPhone, Japanese giant NTT DoCoMo sees a lower number of active users and revises net profit forecasts.
In November, the carrier faced an unusual decline in sales, with a net subscription decrease of 40,800.
The company blames the lack of the iPhone 5, which is available from their rivals, KDDI and Softbank.
Last month KDDI won the first 228,800 customers, while Softbank recruited 301,900.
NTT says that this is the first drop in subscriber numbers in 5 years and the biggest loss in its history.
