iPhone 5 news this week: cases presentations at CES, Translucent Mod Kit, Walmart’s Straight Talk plan

Also, an iPhone 5 waterproof case was presented by Incipio at CES 2013.

The iPhone 5 leather case from iLuv looks very neat and original, especially thanks to its pocket for keeping the earbuds in, and a strap.

Hitcase unveiled an iPhone 5 case that allows you to turn your device into a mobile sports camera mounting kit.

The case is waterproof up to 10 meters and is equipped with a wide angle lens, making this case particularly suitable for those practicing extreme sports.

Also at CES 2013, iFrogz presented the Caliber Advantage, a gamepad specifically designed to work only with the iPhone 5.


iPhone5mod launched the Translucent Mod Kit that allows the iPhone 5’s entire back shell to become transparent.

The housing, lateral bands and buttons of the device can be replaced with a transparent cover, but unfortunately you cannot change the front panel of the device.

This week, Walmart announced that it will officially begin to sell Apple’s iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 starting this month without a contract.

Beginning January 11th, the iPhone 5 can be purchased alongside $45-per-month unlimited service from Straight Talk Wireless.

Only the 16GB version of the iPhone 5, as well as 8GB version of the iPhone 4, will be available for users to choose, at $ 649 and $ 449, respectively.
