The current version of the Microsoft Surface tablet adopts an ARM processor and the RT Windows operating system.
The lack of x86 compatibility and connectivity to Active Directory will be fixed with the Surface Pro whose launch is officially set for February 9 in the United States and Canada.
Equipped with an Intel Core i5, the tablet will be available in 64 GB or 128 GB versions for $899 and $999, respectively.
For the Type Cover, which has physical keys, you’ll have to pay an extra $130. The Touch Cover, which has touch sensors, costs $120.
The new Surface also comes with a USB 3.0 and a Mini DisplayPort.
