According to 9to5Mac, developer @ iNeal discovered that a new beta version of iOS 6.1 contains a reference to support iOS devices with a storage capacity of 128 GB.
Until now, users have to be satisfied with a maximum of 64 GB.
The following graphs show the difference between iOS 6.1 and iOS 6.0.
Such storage could be found in the next iPhone, the 5S, or the iPad 5.
The site also comments on the leaked pictures of what is claimed to be a set of components for the next iPhone models.
Nowhereelse.fr published the images and claimed that they are parts of the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 6.
However, 9to5mac notes that while the French website “has published accurate photos in the past, the site has been frequently inaccurate with reports based on images.”
“Additionally, we find it more likely, that if the parts are indeed legitimate, that one would be for the “iPhone 5S” device and the other for the rumored “cheaper” iPhone. Based on several recent reports, it seems likely that Apple’s 2013 iPhone strategy is a tweaked iPhone 5 and a cheaper iPhone, not a tweaked iPhone 5 and an iPhone revamp,” the report states.
According to the latest rumors, the new iPhone may be launched in mid-2013 on the market and run iOS 7, a new version of the mobile operating system.
