A report by Chinese media (via Brightwire) stated that the iPhone 5S will be an upgraded version of the iPhone 5 and it is likely to be released this year.
As for the iPhone 6, the report claimed that the device is not planned for 2013.
Leaked photos of the iPhone 5S show that the handset’s design bears a significant resemblance to its predecessor.
Jefferies analyst Peter Misek believes Apple is already gearing for the production of the iPhone 5S and that could be the reason for the reduction of its build orders from 40 million to 30 million.
The same analyst doesn’t expect such a device to hit the market until mid-2014.
Due to problems with display yield and other change, the smartphone won’t be released this year, he concludes.
Rene Ritchie from iMore recently shared a few thoughts and insights on the future of the two Apple devices based on recent rumors.
He believes the iPhone 5S will be launched in 2013, keeping in line with Apple’s tradition of releasing an iPhone model each year.
As for iPhone 6, he believes this bigger iPhone model is still in prototype phase and the release of such a device isn’t imminent.
