PlayStation 4 rumors: AMD chips, cloud-based gaming, touch controller

Citing people familiar with the matter, The Wall Street Journal reports that the PS4 will ditch the Cell processor for an AMD chip.

Besides the change of the processor, another novelty will be the incorporation of touch capabilities in the device’s controller.

The console will be armed with the possibility to offer enhanced community experience.

The paper also reiterates other recent rumors, such as the news that the new Sony console will have PS3 games streaming with Gaikai’s system, the Journal states, adding that PlayStation 4 titles will be delivered on discs for now.

Also, cloud-based gaming capabilities will be featured in the next PlayStation.

This Wednesday, February 20, Sony will be holding an event where they are expected to reveal the first official details of their new console.
