The company announced that the new console will hit the market ahead of the holiday season this year.

Details on the launch date and price haven’t been released yet.

In addition, Sony denied recent rumors claiming that the PS4 would block used games.

Thus, Sony executive Shuhei Yoshida told Eurogamer that ”used games can play on a PS4,” but also confirmed that the PlayStation 3 won’t natively support titles.

The new gaming console comes with a new design, new controllers and several upgraded specs, including a new sleep button, Facebook and PS Vita integration.

Sony also announced the release of a PlayStation App for iOS which will serve as a second-screen experience app.
